Virginia (Ginny) Sullivan Mooney of Canton, Massachusetts, and Venice, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was a longtime resident of both Venice, Florida, and Canton, Massachusetts. She and her beloved husband, the late John Mooney, shared many years together and built lasting memories.
Ginny was the devoted wife of the late John Mooney. Together they shared a lifetime of love and commitment to their family. A lifelong Catholic, she had a deep commitment to her faith and found comfort and hope in her devotion to Jesus Christ.

She also had a remarkable knowledge in family history and possessed an extraordinary memory for people, places, and family stories. She was very fond of her Chihuahuas and will be remembered for her faith, her love of history, and the unique role she played in the Mooney family for more than fifty years.
Ginny was the wife of the late John Mooney and sister of the late Phillip Sullivan. She was the stepmother to J. Daniel (deceased), Michael, and Richard Mooney and mother of Paul, Mark, James Mooney and Joan Pagel. She was a grandmother of many children.
