Stephanie E. Bassett

Stephanie E. Bassett of Dighton, formerly of Canton, Weymouth, and Dorchester, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the comfort of her home. She was 95 years old. Stephanie was a retired court stenographer. She had also worked at Filenes in Downtown Crossing, and as a waitress for the Amber Lantern Inn in Onset, and as a welder in the Naval Shipyard. She enjoyed dogs, animals, her family and friends and also enjoyed travelling to the casinos in Connecticut. Loving daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Bassett. Loving sister of the late Margaret Kane, Florence Willard, John E. Bassett, Joseph Bassett, Eugene Bassett, Harold Bassett and Paul Bassett. She is survived by her grand-nephew Gregory Rogers and neice Stephanie Masciocchi with whom she lived. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Visiting hours in the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home Sunday September 20 from 2-6 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday in St. Gerard Majella Church 1860 Washington St., Canton at 12 noon. Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Weymouth.
