Rosalie D. Laraia

Rosalie LaRaia of Westwood, entered eternal rest on December 15, 2021 after a valiant battle with cancer. Rose was born in Boston on December 8, 1947. Reunited in Heaven with her parents Joseph LaRaia and Frances J. Keating, and her dear brother Joseph and his wife Judy, all formerly of Boston. Remembered with fondness by many dear friends and family, Rose had a passion for life. Cancer could not dim Rose’s spirit and fight, making jokes and keeping things light to the end. She loved the arts, cheering on Boston sports teams, and doting on her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. Seeing her grandchildren perform, whether on stage or a field or court, brought her great pride. To honor Rose’s memory, show kindness to others, for you do not know what they are battling.  Her philanthropy and seeing the best in others is a lesson we can all learn.  Loving mother of Michael F. LaRaia, and his wife Chrissy of Canton. Brother of Robert LaRaia and his wife Kathy of Middleboro. Loving Aunt of Bobby LaRaia , James LaRaia, Kerry Anne LaRaia. Proud grandmother of Maddy and Mikey of Canton. Funeral services will be private.

The loss we feel on earth is Heaven’s gain.  "A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take."
