Robert Marshall Sr. Obituary

Robert L. Marshall Sr. died peacefully at home July 4, 2011 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 84. Beloved husband of the late Gloria A. Marshall (Smith). Loving father of Robert L. Marshall Jr. and his wife Dawne of Quincy, Janet M. Lawatsch and her husband Robert of Braintree, Thomas W. Marshall and his fiancé Erin Curran, Judith A. Salvucci and her husband Richard of Quincy, and William J. Marshall of Canton. Loving brother of Edward J. Marshall of Canton, and Walter J. Marshall of Quincy. Loving grandfather of Andrea and Kate Marshall, Carlyn and Allison Lawatsch, TJ, Patrick, and Ronan Marshall, Joseph, Richard, Robert and Emily Salvucci. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was a proud veteran of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Navy. A graduate of Dorchester High School, Boston College, Boston College School of Law and Boston State (Masters in Education). Robert previously worked as an insurance agent, and was a retired elementary school teacher in Scituate and Boston. He founded Marshall Realty Trust in Quincy and pursued many business ventures. He loved hiking, baseball, golf, gardening, and his beloved grandchildren. Visiting hours Thursday July 7, 2011 from 4-8 PM in the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St. Canton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday in St. Gerard Majella Church Washington St. Canton Friday at 10 AM. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the " Babe Marshall" Sports Scholarship Fund, 557 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021
