Margaret E. Meissner Obituary
Margaret E. Meissner of Canton, MA passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the age of 88. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis X. Meissner, to whom she was married for over 50 years.
She was the loving mother of Steven and his wife Elizabeth of North Easton; Edward (Ted) and his wife Erin of Keswick, VA; Joan of Falmouth; and Kathryn and her husband Robert Marsden of Fairfield, CT. She was the proud grandmother of Colin, James, Jack, Christopher, Catherine, Tara, Ryan, Matthew, and Lauren. She was also the dear sister-in-law of Elaine M. Gilmore of Canton.
In addition to her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Gilmore and James Gilmore and his wife Elsie, and her sister, Catherine Gilmore, CSJ.
A woman of deep faith, Margaret was a devoted member of both St. Gerard Majella and St. John parishes. She was also an active and cherished member of the Canton Garden Club for over 50 years. She found her greatest joy in the company of her family — especially her beloved grandchildren — and looked forward each year to winters in Sarasota, FL and summers in Falmouth. She was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing College, class of 1956.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman St., Canton. Services will begin Thursday, May 21 at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Oscar Romero Church, 700 Washington St., Canton at 11:00 AM.
