Louise E. Harrison of Canton died peacefully at home in Canton on November 23, 2024. Louise was the devoted wife of the late Peter J. Harrison Jr. Cherished mother of Beth D. Harrison (Dan Staples) of Canton, Peter William Harrison (Kim Bryant) of Cheshire, CT, and Molly L. Harrison (Tom Giaquinto) of Marshfield, MA. Loving sister of Ann Galvin of Plainville, MA and Edward Galvin of Brunswick, ME. Proud grandmother of Charlotte Louise Staples, Peter Harrison Jr., Benedict Harrison, and Grace Harrison. She is also survived by loving and devoted friends who were like sisters Marilyn Walsh and Linda Podgurski.
Born in Boston to William H. and Elizabeth (Grenham) Galvin, Louise grew up in Canton and attended St. John’s School and Canton High School. After graduation from Aquinas Junior College, she worked at the Mass Housing Authority for several years before staying home to raise her family. She was a Boston Celtics season ticket holder for many years and enjoyed watching them win several championships. The Patriots and Tom Brady also held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed cooking and baking, meeting her friends for tea, lunch and shopping, and when the weather was nice could be found by the water in Scituate enjoying the sun. Louise made friends everywhere she went, but her true calling was being a mother to her three children and Nana to her grandchildren. Her granddog, Baxter, brought her much joy and comfort in her final years. She will be deeply missed but remembered with love by everyone who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 30th in St. Oscar Romero Catholic Church 700 Washington St., Canton at 11 AM.
