Kristine K. (Kelliher) Valday

Kristine Kelliher Valday of West Falmouth, formerly Canton, died peacefully on October 24th, 2023. She lived a full life and cherished her time with her beloved family and friends. In retirement Kris loved her time at the beach and on the golf course as she split time between Little Island and Pocasset Golf Club in the summers and Naples Beach and Countryside Golf Club in the winters. Kris was an avid reader and took a keen interest in current events; she would eagerly await the arrival of the Sunday New York Times every week. She had a true passion for live music and dancing. Her family will always recall the smile on her face and joy in her heart upon hearing the bagpipes in an Irish Pub every St. Patrick’s Day, especially the most recent and final. Kristine was a devoted wife of 62 years to the late William H. Valday. She was a loving mother to William D. Valday, and wife Sheila of Plymouth, MA, Maureen E. Reed and husband Duane of Skillman, NJ, and Kristine V. Dobson and husband Dr. David Dobson of Middleton, MA. Kris was a proud grandmother to Elizabeth Dobson McNamara and husband Peter, Katherine Dobson Goldstein and husband Max, Captain Elise C. Reed, and Dr. Marina A. Reed. Kris was also an admiring great-grandmother to Margaret and Pierce McNamara. Kris was also the loving sister of the late Connie (Cornelius) Kelliher and his late wife Julie, and beloved aunt to Karen Kelliher Anderson and husband Dave, the late Julie Ann Kelliher Chandler and late husband Richard, Valerie Kelliher, and Neil Kelliher and wife Cheryl. A funeral mass will be held at St. Oscar Romero Catholic Church, 700 Washington Street, Canton, MA on November 8th, 2023, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John The Evangelist School for the Strive For Excellence Fund, 696 Washington Street, Canton, MA 02021.
