Klaus P. Guttenberger of Stoughton died peacefully October 23, 2022. He was 85 years old. Klaus was a retired Boston Firefighter, serving in the department for over thirty years. He loved being a fire fighter and loved the firefighters he worked with. The Boston Fire Department was like a second family. Klaus was a member of the Boylston Schul-Verein German-American club in Walpole and enjoyed watching soccer in up-state New York and spending time at Horseneck beach. Devoted husband of Christiane M. Guttenberger (Becker) for fifty-nine years. Loving father of Torsten Guttenberger and his wife Dina Veygman of Natick, and Mark Guttenberger and his wife Angela of Mattapoisett. Brother of Jurgen Guttenberger and the late Gabrielle Guttenberger. Proud grandfather of Vera, Zoe, Chloe, and Nikolas Guttenberger. Klaus grew up in Berlin Germany during the second World War, a time where he and his family endured many hardships. He was extremely grateful to the United States for its role in the Berlin Airlift. Some of Klaus’s fondest memories as a young man in Germany were of his time spent playing team hand ball with the local hand ball club. Klaus enjoyed hunting, mostly the camaraderie with his “hunting buddies”. Funeral Services will be private. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park.
