Joseph P. Swartz

Joseph P. Swartz of Stoughton, MA, formerly of Canton, MA died May 20, 2024. He was 87 years old.

Born in Boston, he graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1953 and from the Bentley School of Accounting and Finance in 1957. He was a member of both the Massachusetts Association of Public Accountants and the National Society of Public accountants.

Joe was passionate about jazz music, he enjoyed following New England sports teams, and was an avid fan of Ohio State football and basketball.

Son of the late David and Sarah Swartz, he was predeceased by brothers Norman Swartz of Lancaster, OH and Conrad “Vic” Swartz of Canton, MA. Former husband of Rena (Rodman) Swartz of Cranston, RI, he is survived by his three children, Eric S. Swartz and his wife Robin of Atkinson, NH, Cheryl A. Swartz of Sharon, MA and Susan B. Williams and her husband Thomas of Attleboro, MA, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 nephews and a niece. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Marcia Richards and her husband Martin of Sharon, MA.

His children would like to thank his dear friends and neighbors Earline and Al Shannon for all the help and kindness they have shown him throughout the years. Funeral services will be private.
