Joseph K. Rushworth

Joseph K. Rushworth of Canton died November 6, 2025. He was 73 years old. Devoted husband of the late Dale Rushworth (Pesaturo). Loving father of Kristen M. Shanahan and her husband Raymond of Scituate, Michael J. Rushworth and his wife Chelsey of Thompson’s Station, TN, and Sarah A. Rohan and her partner Robert McCoy of N. Attleboro. Brother of Peter Rushworth of TX. Proud grandfather of Matthew, Lila, and John Shanahan, William, Beau Rushworth, Douglas, Colin Rohan. A lifelong resident of Canton, Joseph graduated from Xavarian and Villanova University. He created many lasting relationships through his affiliation with Providence College and Barnes and Noble, where he worked for over 40 years. Joe was an avid golfer and shared his love of the sport with his children and grandchildren.  He shined in his role as Papa where he always enjoyed playing and laughing at any mischief around him.  Ever the gentleman, he always greeted everyone warmly and with the utmost respect.  Even as he progressed in his dementia, he was always smiling and laughing.  Our family would like to thank the dedicated nursing staff at Caring Hospice and Bridges by Epoch Pembroke.  Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St., Canton, Sunday, November 9th from 4-6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, 10 AM in St. Oscar Romero Catholic Church 700 Washington St. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery.
