Gilbert F. Levinson, of Canton, passed away suddenly at his home Saturday, September 6, 2025. He was 71. Gil is survived by his wife of 29 years, Nancy Patelis Levinson, and their daughter, Sarah Marie Levinson. The son of the late Sherwin and Viriginia (Cotton) Levinson, he was born, raised and educated in Quincy. He graduated from Thayer Academy with the Class of 1972. He was predeceased by his brother Douglas A. Levinson. Gil was a lifelong lover of classic cinema and a devoted viewer of Turner Classic Movies. He had a deep appreciation for music, especially classic rock, jazz, and blues. Each day, he faithfully read The Boston Globe from front to back. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday evening from 6–8 PM at the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, Canton. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM, with visiting beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Canton Corner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gil’s memory may be made to WGBH Public Broadcasting at www.wgbh.org
