Gertrude Chamberlain Obituary

Gertrude M. Chamberlain (Dacey) died March 7, 2010 after a long illness. She was 82. Born in Boston she grew up in Milton and graduated from Milton High school. Gertrude was a resident of Canton for over 50 years . She worked as a secretary for over 10 years for the John Hancock Life Insurance Company in Boston. She was a past member of the Canton Garden Club and Catholic Womens Club. Devoted wife of the late John A. Chamberlain Jr.. Loving mother of Catherine M. Smith and her husband Richard of Quincy, Joanne E. Vokes of Canton, John A. Chamberlain III of N.C., and Leonard J. Chamberlain and his wife Paula of Middleboro. Loving sister of Marion Hardy of Concord, Gerard Dacey of Weymouth, and Dorothy Bosworth of Milton. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren , and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 4-8 in the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St., Canton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church Washington St. Canton, Thursday at 10:30 AM. Interment Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gertrude's memory to the Alzheimer's Association,311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472. Arrangements by the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St, Canton.
