Eleanor G. (Jameson) Parker, of Canton, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton after a lengthy illness. She was 84. Born in Dedham, to the late Nelson H. and Helen Burnham (Gardner) Jameson, Mrs. Parker was raised and educated in the West Roxbury and Roslindale sections of the City of Boston and graduated from Roslindale High School. She had lived in various towns on Cape Cod and for a short time in Waltham prior to moving to Canton over 55 years ago. In her younger years she had been employed as a Teller in the Kenmore Square branch of Shawmut Bank. In her later years Mrs. Parker had worked at various retail shops in the Tri-City Mall. She loved to be at the ocean and enjoyed beach combing for seaglass, driftwood and assorted other finds she would use in craft projects. She also enjoyed kniting, crocheting and sewing. Mrs. Parker is survived by her daughters, Janis Anderson and her husband David of Canton, and Lauren Valley and her husband Steven of Norton, her son, Richard Parker and his wife Jane of Brockton, and her 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Parker and her brothers, Ralph, Richard and Edward "Boy" Jameson. A Memorial Service in Celebration of Eleanor's Life is being planned for a later date.
