Dale Buschmann Obituary

Dale Marie (Burgett) Buschmann, of Naples, Florida, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 26th 2023 at her Florida residence. She was 69.

Born in North Tonawanda New York on February 10, 1954, Dale was the daughter of the late William G. and Florence (Lawyer) Burgett, and raised and educated in Frewsburg New York. 

Dale seasonally resided in Florida in West Palm Beach, and more recently in Naples and in South Yarmouth on Cape Cod.

Receiving her degree from SUNY Albany, Dale worked for over 35 years in public accounting, serving clients in a variety of industries, both domestically and internationally. She had recently retired as an Assurance Director with BDO in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Dale was an avid baker and chef, who had completed her professional culinary education. She loved to sing and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Kind, generous and compassionate towards others in need, in her retirement Dale began volunteering at the Yarmouth food bank and was training with the Red Cross.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Franz J. Buschmann in 2007, she is survived by her stepchildren, Susan A. McDonnell and her husband Thomas of Canton, MA, Brian F. Buschmann and his fiancée Stephanie Epiro of Santa Cruz, CA, her sisters, Linda Thomas and her husband Wayne, Toni Stone and Wilma Farrington, all of New York, her grandchildren, Ari, Riley and Leah McDonnell and Amanda and Kevin Buschmann, her sisters-in-law, Marianne E. Buschmann of Cambridge and Regina B. Buschmann and her son Jake, of Albany, NY.  She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in celebration of Dale’s life on Saturday at 1PM at the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, Canton. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery in Canton. The family will welcome visitors prior to service on Saturday from 11AM-1PM.

If desired, donations may be made in Dale’s memory and her late husband Franz to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to support Dr. Kimmie Ng’s pancreatic cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber, 10 Brookline Place, West Brookline, MA 02445 or via  jimmyfund.org/gift.
