Claire Taylor Obituary

Claire P. Taylor (Polek), of Canton died peacefully in her home April 4, 2012, after a long fought battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was 68 years old. Claire was a proud graduate of Boston College School of Nursing in 1965.She worked as an R.N. in San Francisco and San Diego from 1965-1967, and Children's Hospital in Boston from 1967 -1971. She worked as a Pediatric Rehab Nurse for the children at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton for over 30 years until retirement in 2003. She was a member of the Board of Trustees at the Massachusetts Hospital School, a member of the League of Women Voters, and a member of the Canton Association of Parents & Teachers. She was an avid golfer and gardener, and enjoyed sailing, and spending summers in Pocasset with her family. She was a faithful parishioner, CCD teacher and Eucharist Minister in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Loving and devoted wife of Donald L. Taylor of Canton. Loving mother of Matthew A. Taylor and his wife Paula of Norfolk, Martha T. Murray and her husband David of Plainville, and Robert W. Taylor and his wife Melyssa of Arlington. Loving sister of Richard Polek and his wife Barbara of Somers CT. Proud Babci (grandmother) of Ryan, Alice, Matthew, Callie and Abigail. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours Saturday April 7th , from 2-6 PM in the Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St. Canton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Gerard Majella Church Canton, Monday April 9 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Claire's memory may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) 383 Main Ave, 5th Fl., Norwalk, CT 06851 or www.themmrf.org
