Claire P. Botsch (Hurley) of Canton died peacefully surrounded by her family on February 16, 2021. She was 90 years old. Claire was a volunteer administrative assistant for the Canton Fire Department for many years and she was a member of the Canton Firefighter’s Ladies Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Sharon High School and worked for the Shawmut bank as a young adult. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She loved spending time with her family. Whether it was a vacation, a holiday or a Saturday afternoon, she treasured her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed social activities with her friends. She had an uncanny ability to make conversation with anyone she met and she will be remembered for her incredible sense of humor that brought joy to many. If you knew her you will miss her. She was the devoted wife of the late Frederick W. Botsch (CFD retired). Loving mother of Patricia C. McNamara and her husband Jack of Easton, Roberta M. Parker and her late husband Walter of Foxboro, Frederick W. Botsch III and his wife Betsy of Kingston, Stephen M. Botsch and his wife Julie of Sammamish WA, Daniel Botsch and his partner Teresa Albrittain of Berryville, VA, James D. Botsch and his wife Debra of Newnan, GA and Lynda D. DeMarino of Canton. Sister of Marie Cuneo of Sharon, Carol Simonin of Atascadero, CA, and Nancy Briggs of Norwood. Claire is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church Saturday at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery.
