Trooper Chester E. Adams of Whitman, formerly of Weymouth, died unexpectedly at home Saturday, August 17th, 2024. He was 56 years old. A Massachusetts State Trooper and member of the 79th RTT Chester proudly served the Commonwealth for over 18 years. He was a dedicated and well-respected member of the department known for his tireless work ethic. Chester was also a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, roller skating and relaxing at home. Son of the late Elder Timothy and First Lady Gladys Adams. He is survived by his fiancé Debra A. Mathis of Brockton. Father of Tyler Adams of Boston. Brother of Pastor Tracy Adams of Norwood, Janice Adams of Roslindale, Timothy Adams Jr. and his wife Laura of North Weymouth and the late Sheila Adams. Chester is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his brothers and sisters on patrol. Visitation will be in the Congregational Church of Canton 1541 Washington St., Canton on Wednesday, August 28th from 10-12. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A funeral service will be held at noon. Interment will be private. The Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman St., Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
