Brenda (Donlan) Flood

Brenda (Donlan) Flood, of Canton, died peacefully at Cornerstone of Canton on December 3, 2025.  She was 84 years old. Brenda was born to Thomas and Elizabeth (DuWors) Donlan and raised in Milton, MA, where she was a member of the first graduating class at Fontbonne Academy. She made many lifelong friends there and went on to graduate from Emmanuel College with a degree in education. After raising her children, she taught first grade at the Kennedy school in Canton for over 20 years. Upon retiring, she and her husband John became snowbirds, enjoying many happy winters in Naples, FL. Brenda was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, John “Jack” Flood, and her cherished son-in-law, Daniel H. Risher of Virginia. Loving mother of Amy E. Fisher and her husband Neal of Walpole, Katy F. Risher of Sterling, VA, Kerry A. Flood of Mansfield, Nancy N. Flood of Roslindale, and Mary F. Mahon and her husband Brian of Fairfield, CT. Loving sister of Phyllis Arnoff of Portland, OR, and predeceased by her brother Thomas of Hingham and her sister MaryBeth of North Carolina. Proud and loving “Ma” to grandchildren Alison, Kelly, Megan, Johnny, Liam, Declan, Claire and Eamonn. Caring aunt to many nieces and nephews. Fond cousin to Jay Donlan and his wife Mary of Virginia. Many heartfelt and special thanks to the staff of Cornerstone Assisted Living and Nicole’s Angels of Cornerstone for the compassion, love, friendship and care given to our mother and family during her illness. Words cannot express how grateful we are for all of you. Visiting hours at the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, Canton on Sunday from 2-5. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A funeral service will be celebrated at St. Oscar Romero Church, 700 Washington Street, Canton on Monday, December 8, at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in Brenda’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
