Anna F. (Ferrick) Cashman

Anna F. Cashman of Canton passed away in the early hours of September 29,2024, at the age of 91. Honored wife of the late Daniel Cashman, and cherished daughter of the late John and Beatrice Ferrick, Anna is survived by her children: Kevin Cashman, Donna Witherell and husband Stephen, Daniel Cashman and wife Rose, and Ann Campanario and husband William; her grandchildren Casey and Austin Witherell, William and Lea Campanario, Katharine and Connor Cashman, and Ryan Cashman and wife Briana, and their children, Natalie, Graeme, Mairi, and Éowyn.

The eldest of nine siblings, Anna spent her childhood on a farm in her native Galway, Ireland. There she raised chickens, pigs, sheep, and horses, and spent many afternoons catching eels in a nearby stream. In her 20s, she immigrated to the United States, settling in the suburbs of Boston where she met her husband, Daniel, and raised her four children. Always proud of her heritage, she passed along a love of all things Irish to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed company, and could be relied upon for a hearty Sunday dinner, and a thick slice of homemade Irish soda bread. She loved watching her children grow and raise their families and took great delight in the achievements of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of tradition, family, friendship, and love.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Oscar Roman Catholic Church, 700 Washington St, Canton, Thursday, October 3 at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours omitted. Interment, Canton Corner Cemetery, 1600 Washington St, Canton.
