Francis Archer Obituary

` Francis X. Archer of Canton, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on May 3, 2009 . He was 90. Francis worked as a technician for New England Telephone for many years until retiring. He was a devoted husband and father. Francis was member of the Knights of Columbus in Roxbury, an avid bowler, a volunteer ballot counter for the city of Quincy for many years, and was a member of the "Barry's Gang" at Barry's Deli in Quincy. Devoted husband of Dorothy E. (Tripp) of Canton. Proud father of Francis X. Archer and his wife Sandra of Marshfield, Andrea J. Hutchinson and her husband Arthur of Canton, Judith A. Archer of Canton and her fiancé Joseph Gallo of Winthrop. Loving brother of Marie Blaser of Braintree and Eleanor Archer of Quincy. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday May 7, 2009 in St. John the Evangelist Church, Washington St. Canton. At 10:30 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 6-8 PM in the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St. Canton. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery W. Roxbury. Proud W.W. II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Francis's memory to the National Kidney Foundation 85 Astor Ave, Suite 2 Norwood, Ma 02062 .
